Experience the warmth, beauty and romance of an indoor tropical jungle. Interact with tropical birds, tortoises, ducks, flamingos, geckos, iguana, 6000 free flying butterflies at Victoria’s Butterfly Gardens.

In our climate controlled environment, (26 Celsius and 80% humidity), you will wander through lush jungles of plants native to tropical rainforest environments that make up the Butterfly Gardens. Stroll along the pathways past organic vanilla beans growing on the vine, papaya trees, pineapple, coffee beans, ginger and many other foods of the world growing in our organic soil.As you mingle with our tropical animals, you will be pleased to discover that they are all donated to, or rescued by, our Garden. We showcase the biodiversity that the tropics have to offer.This carefully planned combination of trees, bushes, vines and creepers is a balanced jungle-like eco-system that flourishes without the use of herbicides and pesticides.We are located just 5 minutes from the ‘world famous’ Butchart Gardens.

Experience an array of impressive insects and invertebrates from around the world

Tiny creatures from all around the globe are some of the latest residents to call Victoria Butterfly Gardens home. The new Insectarium exhibit opened in February 2017 and has an array of insects and invertebrates in a vibrant jungle-like setting.

With something for all ages to enjoy, the Insectarium may send shivers up your spine while you learn about all things buggy.

Admission included in your Victoria Butterfly Gardens ticket.

The Victoria Butterfly Gardens Annual Pass is a fantastic way to experience growth and changes in the Jungle year-round. You have the choice of purchasing an annual pass outright or upgrading your admission ticket at the end of your visit.


– Pass holders receive 20% discount on daily admission rates to Royal BC Museum (excluding family admission rates)
– Pass holders receive 10% discount in the Victoria Butterfly Gardens Gift Shop
– Unlimited, year-round access to the gardens and Insectarium.
