Bloedel Floral Conservatory

The Bloedel Conservatory contains three separate climatic zones under one roof: Tropical, Subtropical and Desert. It is home to more than 500 varieties of plants from around the world as well as more than 200 free-flying exotic birds.

Experience Bloedel Conservatory, a fun, family-friendly indoor attraction located at the peak of Vancouver in Queen Elizabeth Park. Discover 120 exotic birds and over 500 kinds of tropical plants inside the dome and then explore the fountains, gardens and sculptures around Queen Elizabeth Park.

Host a memorable eventBloedel Conservatory is an exotic setting for a cocktail party, anniversary celebration, fundraiser, birthday party or a wedding and can be booked for a reasonable fee seven days a week! Bloedel Conservatory is available for larger events (up to 150 people). Weddings under the domeWeddings are limited to a maximum of 30 people. A rental fee is charged per booked session. Two time slots are available – morning (before public opening) and evening (after public closing). Note that special licensing is required for food and alcohol and prices increase accordingly, and rice, confetti, candles and blowing bubbles are not permitted. VanDusen Botanical Garden

Travel the botanical world in this unique, 55 acre (22 hectare) collection, right in the heart of Vancouver, BC.

Explore VanDusen Botanical Garden, an inspiring 55 acre outdoor oasis with over 7,500 plant species and varieties. Spot and photograph local wildlife, enjoy the hedge maze with the kids and relax in a serene setting located in the heart of Vancouver. Bring a picnic or dine on the patios of Shaughnessy Restaurant or Truffles Café. Don’t forget to visit the award-winning visitor centre and browse the gift shop.

Guided tours are the best way to see and appreciate all the Garden has to offer. From April 1st through to the end of October, tours are offered daily by trained docent guides starting at 2 p.m., and Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. In the winter months (Thanksgiving–March 31) guided tours offered only on Sundays at 2 p.m. Please note: all tours are weather permitting.See vandusengarden.org for more details.

Founded in 1976, and recently relocated to the new Visitor Centre, the Yosef Wosk Library and Resource Centre is the largest public access botanical and horticultural library in western Canada.The library’s collection focuses on gardening in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest, and covers a wide range of topics including gardening techniques, selecting and growing ornamental plants, native floras from around the world, vegetable and herb gardening, pruning and training, North American ethnobotany, butterfly gardening, native plant gardening, flower arrangement, plant hunters, garden history, pests and diseases, garden design, gardens to visit, horticulture in urban environments, botany and plant ecology, plant conservation, literature in the garden, garden art, organic gardening, environmental science and much more.Learn more about the Yosef Wosk Library on their website.
