Milner Christmas 2020: wander the lighted trails at the Milner Gardens and Woodland every night from 5:00 to 8:30 PM.

An outdoor Christmas light show for the whole family to enjoy. Over half a kilometer of lit and decorated trails with Santa, live Christmas music, Teddy Bear Cottage, Story Telling in the Magnolia Room, Camellia Tea Room, outdoor Refreshment Stand, and two Gift Shops available.

Milner Christmas 2020 is a fundraising event in support of Milner Gardens & Woodland with a special event admission by suggested donation of:

$5 Adult, $2.50 Child, $12 Family (2 Adults & up to 3 Children/Youth under 19 years.)

Celebrate the Holidays at The Butchart Gardens Magic of Christmas this year!

Join the Butchart Gardens December 1 to January 6, 2020 when they officially transform The Gardens into the Butchart 2019 Magic of Christmas. From 5:00 pm to 11 pm every day, colourful lights, carollers, ice skating and festive fare—Christmas is a cheerful time of year at The Gardens. Experience the Butchart 2019 Magic of Christmas with family and friends. Bundle up and stroll through the Twelve Days of Christmas display, sing along to the sounds of the season with Traditional Carollers or listen to the Festive Brass, then stop in at the Coffee Shop to warm up with a hot chocolate and gingerbread by the fire.

  • Ice skating (regular rates apply); skate rentals available
  • Tens of thousands of Christmas lights
  • The 12 days of Christmas display throughout The Gardens
  • Carollers and Festive Brass in the Piazza
  • The Dining Room Restaurant re-opens for seasonal tea and a festive Christmas season dinner menu
  • The Blue Poppy Restaurant re-opens for festive dinner dining

Combining Christmas merriment with The Gardens’ renowned fare, festive dining is an experience to remember. In the Dining Room Restaurant, choose from seasonal afternoon tea or delicious dinner, or opt for the more casual fare in the Blue Poppy Restaurant. This is the time of year to indulge in the rich and sweet flavours, take in the lights display, then sit in the Piazza to listen to the music of the season.

Planning your visit

The main entrance to the Bloedel Conservatory is located off 33rd Avenue between Cambie and Main Streets.

Bloedel is wheelchair accessible and has a loaner wheelchair available. Designated as a heritage building, it is jointly operated by Vancouver Park Board and the Vancouver Botanical Garden Association. Together, these partners also operate VanDusen Botanical Garden.

While visiting, don’t miss VanDusen’s the Festival of Lights, a magical winter wonderland with over one million lights decorating VanDusen Botanical Garden, open from December 1 to January 6. VanDusen Botanical Garden and Bloedel Conservatory are closer than you think. You can visit both attractions in the same day and enjoy a scenic walk (18 minutes), bike (8 minutes), or bus ride via W 33rd Ave (18 minutes) in between. Experience a magical winter wonderland with over one million lights decorating 15 acres of VanDusen Botanical Garden from December 1 to January 6 for the Vandusen 2018 Festival of Lights.

Carousel

What else brings on more holiday cheer than a ride on a carousel amidst a beautifully lit setting. From grandkids to grandparents, it’s family fun for everyone.

All tickets include a free ride on the carousel.

Dancing lights

Be mesmerized by lights dancing to classic, disco, and soul music sets on Livingstone Lake, every 20 minutes.

Santa’s Place

Families, kids, and couples alike can take photos with Santa in the Visitor Centre halls until December 24. This is now a free experience included with entry.

Fireside Lounge

Gather around the fire pits and warm up with a specialty holiday beverage in this new outdoor licensed area.

Make-A-Wish® – Candle Grotto

Make a donation to our charity partner, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and make a wish while you light a candle to fill this picturesque grotto.

Recycled rhythms

Let your kids have some fun making music with recycled instruments.

Play the piano and sing along to holiday tunes in the garden.
