British Columbia’s Communities in Bloom

BC Communities are proud to be ‘in Bloom’

From coastal tourist hotspots through to wide-open interior and forested northern towns, the British Columbia Communities in Bloom program provides a measurement of a community’s desirability as a place to live, work and visit. Participants showcase their hometown’s best features from street tidiness and floral displays to unique heritage and environmental treasures. BC’s CIB participants are proud geographical links to the Gardens British Columbia Member Network.

Nitobe Memorial Garden

A place of reflection, where each step reveals a new harmony, the garden is designed to suggest a span of time – a day, a week or a lifetime – with a beginning, choice of paths, and ending.

A traditional Japanese Tea and Stroll Garden ranked consistently in the top 5 Japanese Gardens in North America. The Nitobe Garden includes a rare authentic Tea Garden with a ceremonial Tea House. Each tree, stone and shrub has been deliberately placed and is carefully maintained to reflect an idealized conception and symbolic representation of nature. There is harmony among natural forms – waterfalls, rivers, forests, islands and seas – and a balance of masculine and feminine forces traditionally attributed to natural elements.Nitobe Memorial Garden is part of UBC Botanical Garden located on the University of British Columbia Point Grey campus at a separate location.

Tulips of the Valley

Chilliwack Tulip Festival

Tulips of the Valley logo

Tulips of the Valley

Why is Our Tulip Fest the Best in the Fraser Valley?

You probably want to know if we have more than breathtaking flowers? We have all sorts of festival fun: Hyacinth and Daffodil Fields, Food Trucks, Dutch Traditional Treats, Crafts for Kids, Contests and NEW THIS YEAR, Tractor Rides by the Rotary Club and a special bed of the official World Friendship Tulip! Plus, the real farm experience, which is great for all ages!

Chilliwack Sunflower Festival brought to you by the creators of Tulips of the Valley.

We are flower growers at heart so it only made sense to extend the tulip festival concept to another beauty, the Sunflower.  Where the tulip symbolizes the beginning of spring and the end of winter, the Sunflower is a strong symbol of summer. For our first annual Sunflower festival we decided to go all out and plant 17 different varieties to enjoy.  We will have over 3 acres planted in our giant Mammoth sunflower that can reach heights of 12 feet and taller.  We also have 1.5 acres planted in a cut flower orange variety which will reach heights between 5 and 6 feet.  Our fields are completed with an acre of show garden with 15 different varieties of different heights, colours and bloom sizes for our guests to enjoy.

Tulips of the Valley: Chilliwack Tulip Festival

YES, IT’S A TULIP FESTIVAL!

And we’ve been busy, bringing the beauty of the bloom to the Fraser Valley for the last 12 years!

You might know us as team tulip, as locals often call us. Because, since 2006, our family has been working our farming magic in the majestic Fraser Valley fields, growing colourful arrays of beautiful tulips, to bring you our impressive outdoor event, Tulips of the Valley -the largest and oldest tulip festival in western Canada.
