Vancouver Island University’s Milner Gardens & Woodland is a magical seaside retreat once reserved for royalty.Sheltered by an old-growth forest and the Strait of Georgia, this one-of-a-kind woodland estate rejuvenates the soul with its gardens and magnificent coastal views.Stroll along the groomed forest trails through the 60 acres of old growth forest to the woodland garden with its rhododendron lined glades carpeted with cyclamen, trillium and other indigenous plants.Experience the artist’s garden surrounding the historic Milner House situated atop an ocean side bluff.Savour the spectacular tree-framed views of the Georgia Strait dotted with its islands and backdrop of distant coastal mountains.After strolling the forest trails and gardens, take time to enjoy a leisurely pot of afternoon tea in the Camellia Tea Room of Milner House where Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and Princess Diana once visited.Open daily 10:00 am with last entry at 4:30 pm May-August.Free shuttle service from entrance to the Pool House Gift Shop and Camellia Tea Room.Guided tours on request for groups of 10 or more by reservation.Free parking for cars, RV’s and busses at the Welcome Interpretive Centre.Please see our website for events and shoulder season openings.

Relax with a leisurely pot of tea in the charming Camellia Tea Room.

The Camellia Tea Room is located in the drawing room of the historic Milner House and offers remarkable views of the garden, ocean and mountains beyond. Fresh scones are prepared in-house and served with preserves made with the berries grown in our Food Garden and fruit from the Orchard. A variety of teas, hot and cold beverages, a daily hot soup served with a fresh scone and dessert specials are also available.No reservations are required, except for high tea or large groups (10 or more).Please note: Garden admission is required to access the Camellia Tea Room.For tea offerings and prices please see our website.

Our annual outdoor festival of Christmas lights and music for the whole family in the Garden.Stroll over half a kilometer of lit and decorated trails. Be sure to visit Santa at the Ursus Den, count the bears in the Teddy Bear Cottage, enjoy to Christmas carols & refreshments at Milner House, listen to storytellers in the Magnolia Room, and shop for Christmas gifts in the Queen’s Room & Pool House Gift Shop.Please see our website for event dates and times.
