Last year, Lanterns In The Garden, a Zodiac Themed event, had 4,000+ guests to celebrate the grand Lantern Festival with us in the heart of Vancouver. This year features lanterns shaped in mythical stories, a food court, costume photoshoot, and weekly stage performances. Warm up your winter with us and make memories with us at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden!
Lanterns in the Garden is all about INCLUSIVE cultural celebration. As a non-profit organization, we strive to bring all Vancouverites happiness, joy and warmth, while showcasing the artistic, celebrative and festive elements of cultural talents and Chinese Lantern Festival!
Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden has partnered with the Lasting Art and Cultural Heritage Society to bring visitors Lanterns in the Garden (yuánxiāo jié) that marks the last day of the Lunar New Year celebration. For three weekends, the Garden will be glowing with handmade lanterns created by award-wining lantern master Chen Bai Wah from Nanjing, China. These lantern displays showcase various Chinese legends, making Lanterns in the Garden both an entertaining and educational celebration fit for all ages. The lineup of cultural activities, such as the classic game of lantern riddles and the quick-comfort food market, adds to the festive spirit of the lantern festival, sending visitors off with well wishes in the Lunar New Year.
